Library Sets Upcoming Schedule

The Manheim Community Library (MCL), 15 E. High St., has posted its schedule. Programs are free unless otherwise noted. For more information, readers may call 717-665-6700 or visit http://www.manheimlibrary.org.

The library will be closed on Monday, Feb. 18, in honor of Presidents Day.

MCL's Winter Reading Challenge will continue through Saturday, Feb. 9. Participants of all ages can win prizes by playing Blizzard Bingo. Blizzard Bingo cards are available for emerging readers, independent readers, and adults. Tasks will vary by level and include reading prompts and activity prompts. Game boards may be picked up at the library or downloaded from the library website. The library website and the library's Facebook page offer additional information.

Winter yoga for adults will be offered on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays during February. Instructor Joyce Courtney will lead sessions at 9 a.m. on Saturdays, Feb. 9 and 23. Youth librarian Colleen Gergely will lead a session on Saturday, Feb. 16, at 9 a.m. She will also lead 10-minute mini-sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays at 9 a.m. and noon.

Homeschoolers Hour, for people age 5 and up, will focus on Magic School Bus Science at 10 a.m. on Mondays through April 8. The group will watch an episode of "The Magic School Bus" and then enjoy a hands-on experiment or craft. Siblings are welcome. Registration is required.

MCL will offer several story times each week through Thursday, March 28, and individuals may sign up once for the entire series. Preschool Time, focused on literacy preparedness for 3- to 5-year-olds, will feature stories, games, songs, and activities. It will be offered on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. at the Penn Township Municipal Building, 97 N. Penryn Road, Manheim, and on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. at the library. Toddler Time with Stay and Play, held on Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. at the library, will offer a short lap-sit and an indoor playtime for 1- and 2-year-olds accompanied by a caregiver.

People of all ages invited to create a Valentine's Day craft on Friday, Feb. 8, from 1 to 5 p.m.

Sessions of Dungeons and Dragons for teenagers age 13 and up will be offered from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Feb. 9 and 23.

The knitting club for adults will meet at 6 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 11. Individuals who like to knit or crochet or who would like to learn are welcome.

Youths age 5 and up are invited to take part in a Lego Challenge on Wednesdays, Feb. 13 and 27, at 3:30 p.m. Upon arrival, youths will find out what that day's challenge is, such as a theme, goal, or competition.

Full STEAM Ahead, for youths age 10 and up, will take place at noon on Feb. 16. The program will be CSI - Manheim: "Who Stole the Library Book?" Participants will learn about fingerprints, where prints come from, how prints get left behind, how to print someone's fingers, how to lift prints from a nonporous surface, and how to match prints. They will lift a print from a surface. They will then compare the lifted print to some suspects' prints and determine whose prints were at the scene. Registration is required.

In honor of Engineering Week, an Engineering STEM Challenge for youths age 7 and up will be offered on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 4 p.m. Registration is required.

The book club for adults will discuss "Black and Blue" by Anna Quindlen when it meets on Friday, Feb. 22, at 9:30 a.m.

Ryan Swope will present "How Money Works" on Monday, Feb. 25, at 6:30 p.m. Attendees will learn simple concepts that can change their financial future. Registration is required.
