Community Will Host Project

Traditions of Hershey, 100 N. Larkspur Drive, Palmyra, is joining dozens of volunteers across the country in the Little Hats, Big Hearts initiative. Volunteers will knit and crochet red hats for babies born in February at participating hospitals. The tiny red hats symbolize a shared mission of heart-healthy lives for everyone.

Acceptable donations will be made with red color, cotton or acrylic medium- to heavy-weight, machine washable and dryable yarn. Simple hat patterns are requested because buttons and extraneous bows can detach, posing a safety risk to the infants. Sample patterns can be found at http://www.heart.org/en/get-involved/little-hats-big-hearts.

On Thursday, Feb. 21, at 2 p.m., Traditions of Hershey invites anyone interested in knitting or crocheting to join residents to help create as many tiny red hats as possible for donation to Little Hats, Big Hearts.
