Twenty-nine Lebanon Valley College students will participate in an immersive study away experience this spring in countries including China, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, and Spain. Local participants include Daniel Bennett of Annville and Julia Seltzer of Hummelstown.
Bennett, a graduate of Annville Cleona High School, is studying in Shanghai, China, and pursuing a Bachelor of Science in digital communications and art and visual culture. This program offers students the opportunity to take an introductory Mandarin language course and relevant Chinese contextual courses. Students also take part in an internship with a multinational company and live on the campus of Eastern China Normal University in Shanghai.
Seltzer, a graduate of Central Dauphin East High School, is studying in Valladolid, Spain, and pursuing a Bachelor of Science in exercise science. This program, for Spanish majors and nonmajors, is centered in the northern regional capital city of Valladolid. Students take Spanish-instructed classes at the Universitas Castellae in Spanish literature, history, and culture, and the students live with Spanish-speaking families.
