Geisinger Holy Spirit has announced two classes.
In honor of American Heart Month, Geisinger Holy Spirit will offer a free CPR class for the public on Saturday, Feb. 16, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The class will be held in the auditorium of the hospital, 503 N. 21st St., Camp Hill. American Heart Association-trained instructors will teach participants how to perform CPR on a victim of cardiac arrest and how to assist a person who is choking. Participants will also learn how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED). There is no charge to attend the class, but registration is required by calling 717-972-4262.
Geisinger health and wellness staff will offer a diabetes prevention program every Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Dillsburg Senior Center, 1 N. Second St., Dillsburg. Trained lifestyle coaches will seek to help participants lose weight, increase physical activity, and make healthy lifestyle choices that may prevent or delay the onset of Type 2 diabetes. Participants must be age 18 or older and have prediabetes or be at risk for developing diabetes. To register, readers may call 866-415-7138.
