HSHA Sets 5K Run/Walk

May 04, 2019 - 8:00 am

The Humane Society of Harrisburg Area Inc. (HSHA) will hold its 22nd annual 5K Run/Walk for the Animals on Saturday, May 4, at Wildwood Park, 100 Wildwood Way, Harrisburg. The proceeds from the pet-friendly event will go directly to helping the more than 500 animals that reside at the shelter by meeting their basic needs and providing veterinary care.

Registration will begin at 8 a.m., with the 5K stepping off at 10 a.m. A vaccination clinic will be on-site from 9 to 11 a.m. Vendors will be present at the event.

Participants are asked to obtain a minimum fundraising total of a set amount. Those who attain a specific higher fundraising level will receive an event T-shirt. Top runners from each age category will receive a medal.

Additionally, participants may purchase yard signs to honor their pets. Signs will be displayed along the course's memorial mile. Prepurchase is recommended, as quantities are limited. Any signs remaining after presales will be available for purchase at the event. Individuals may submit a photo of their pet to be included on the sign. Anyone who would like to keep their sign should pick it up at the conclusion of the event.
