Library Posts Event Schedule

The Manheim Community Library (MCL), 15 E. High St., has posted its schedule. Programs are free unless otherwise noted. For more information, readers may call 717-665-6700 or visit http://www.manheimlibrary.org.

Homeschoolers Hour, for people age 5 and up, will focus on Magic School Bus Science at 10 a.m. each Monday through April 8. The group will watch an episode of "The Magic School Bus" and then enjoy a hands-on experiment or craft. Siblings are welcome. Registration is required.

MCL will offer several weekly story times through Thursday, March 28, and individuals may sign up once for the entire series. Preschool Time, focused on literacy preparedness for 3- to 5-year-olds, features stories, games, songs and activities. It is offered on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. at the Penn Township Municipal Building, 97 N. Penryn Road, Manheim, and on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. at the library. On Wednesday, March 6, the story time will be a party celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday; walk-ins are welcome. Toddler Time with Stay and Play, held on Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. at the library, offes a short lap-sit and an indoor playtime for 1- and 2-year-olds accompanied by a caregiver.

A fused glass class for all ages will be held on March 6 at 1 p.m. Artist Kathleen Forney will teach participants how to create a fused glass suncatcher. Registration is required, and a fee has been set.

Movie and a Craft, a program for youths, will be held on Fridays, March 8 and 29, at 1 p.m. Snacks will be included.

Sessions of Dungeons and Dragons for teenagers age 13 and up will be offered from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays, March 9 and 23.

The knitting club for adults will meet at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 11. Individuals who like to knit or crochet or who would like to learn are welcome.

Youths age 5 and up are invited to take part in a Lego Challenge on Wednesdays, March 13 and 27, at 3:30 p.m. Upon arrival, youths will be given a challenge, such as a theme, goal or competition.

Full STEAM Ahead, for youths age 10 and up, will take place at noon on Saturday, March 16. The program will be on cryptology. Registration is required.

The book club for adults will discuss "When the English Fall" by David Williams when it meets on Friday, March 22, at 9:30 a.m.

Exploring the Clouds, a program for youths, will meet on Monday, March 25, at 4 p.m. Young cryptographers will learn about simple codes and ciphers. They will practice solving classic ciphers and codes, and they will encode and encipher their own secret messages.
