A Veterans' Expo and Job Fair will take place on Tuesday, March 26, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Wyndham Garden York, 2000 Loucks Road, York. The free event is open to veterans of any age, active military personnel and military families.
The Veterans' Expo will connect active and retired military members and their families with the benefits and resources available to them through local community service providers, health care professionals, VA benefits counselors, VFWs and American Legion groups. Exhibitors will also include a range of businesses, from home improvement, legal services and finance to retirement living and insurance.
The opening ceremony will include the presentation of colors by the Korean War Veterans Color Guard.
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs will have a Veterans Outreach Van on site, and students from a barber school will provide free haircuts.
The job fair portion of the event is an opportunity for transitioning and former military personnel of all ages to meet face-to-face with employers to discuss available positions. Job seekers may visit the resource center for mock interviews, financial services and planning assistance, resume reviews, and other information for translating military careers to civilian opportunities.
