Senior Center Sets Schedule

The Elizabethtown Area Senior Center, located in the GEARS Community Center, 70 S. Poplar St., Elizabethtown, invites area seniors to its upcoming programs. The center, a service of GEARS and the Lancaster County Office of Aging, is open regularly on Mondays through Fridays. Interested individuals may call the center at 717-367-7984 for more information or to make reservations.

On Thursday, March 14, the center will offer walking at 9 a.m., an activity with a preschool class at 10 a.m., Mind Matters: Snack Smart at 10:45 a.m., and pinochle and bridge at 12:30 p.m. Lunch will be lemon pepper chicken, wild rice, Brussels sprouts, and fresh fruit.

Activities on Friday, March 15, will include walking at 9 a.m., Bible study or table games at 10 a.m., "Truth or Blarney?" at 11 a.m., and a TGIF dinner and pinochle party at 5 p.m. Lunch will be a tuna salad sandwich, cheesy broccoli soup, and pears.

The schedule on Monday, March 18, will include walking at 9 a.m.; laddergolf at 9:30 a.m.; Strength, Stretch, and Balance at 10 a.m.; a Juniors Helping Seniors activity at 11 a.m.; and pinochle at 12:30 p.m. Lunch will be corned beef and cabbage, mashed potatoes, green beans, and pistachio pudding.

On Tuesday, March 19, the center will offer walking at 9 a.m., a morning stretch at 9:30 a.m., bingo at 10:30 a.m., and Reminisce at 1 p.m. Lunch will be a mango barbecued chicken breast, brown rice, coleslaw, an apple, and cranberry crisp.

The schedule on Wednesday, March 20, will include walking at 9 a.m., chair exercise at 9:30 a.m., Wii bowling and a medication take-back at 10 a.m., a '60s TV Challenge at 11 a.m., and Central Penn Commodity Food Boxes at 1 p.m. Lunch will be pot roast with gravy, baked potato, carrots, and a cookie.
