Susquehanna Yacht Club, 1730 Long Level Road, Wrightsville, and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will teach the first Sailing Skills and Seamanship Class since this area was designated as a National Heritage Area. The class is open to the public and will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays, April 3 to May 22.
The class is a recognized Coast Guard Auxiliary class, and participants who successfully complete the final test are eligible to receive the Pennsylvania Boating Safety Education Certificate, which is valid for use of all watercraft, including jet skis and other personal watercraft. Susquehanna Yacht Club members will provide sailboat rides before several of the classes, so participants can get the feel of the procedures presented in class.
Preregistration is required. There is a course fee, which includes all materials.
