Students at Dallastown Area High School, 700 New School Lane, Dallastown, will perform the Tony Award-winning musical "Les Miserables" in the school's auditorium. Performances will take place at 7 p.m. from Thursday, April 11, through Saturday, April 13, and at 2 p.m. on April 13 and Sunday, April 14.
The story of "Les Miserables" recounts the struggle against adversity in 19th-century France. It follows Jean Valjean following his release from a 19-year prison term.
Recently, former Broadway actor and York native David Masenheimer, who played Javert in "Les Miserables" on Broadway for two and a half years, shared advice with students. One afternoon, students in the musical were dismissed from their classes to meet with Masenheimer, hear his story, and perform several numbers for him to review.
