Egg Painting Program Posted

Apr 13, 2019 - 10:00 am

Susquehanna Heritage will host Doc Hinkle's egg painting at Columbia Crossing River Trails Center, 41 Walnut St., Columbia, on Saturday, April 13, from 10 a.m. to noon. Eggs, supplies, snacks, and beverages will be available for families to celebrate Columbia's history by decorating eggs with Doc Hinkle's egg dye.

The tradition dates back to 1893, when Samuel Hinkle developed Doc Hinkle's egg dye in his pharmacy in Columbia. The paint-on egg dye can be easily applied with cotton swabs.

Participants may paint three eggs for a set fee, with all supplies and refreshments included in the cost. Registration is required by Thursday, April 11, by contacting 717-449-5607 or info@columbiacrossing.org.
