The next presentation of the Rotary Club of Lititz's 2018-19 Travel and Adventure Series will be held on Saturday, April 6, at the Warwick High School Performing Arts Center, 301 W. Orange St., Lititz. Performances will be at 2 p.m., with a musical prelude starting at 1:30 p.m., and at 7:30 p.m., with a musical prelude starting at 7 p.m.
Brent Winebrenner will present "Guatemala: The Land of the Maya." Attendees will explore the achievements of the ancient Maya in places like El Mirador, Tikal and Yaxha, as well as examine the tension between Mayan traditions and Spanish colonialism. The Easter Week celebration in Antigua will be featured, along with Mayan culture in Lake Atitlan.
Winebrenner is a photographer and filmmaker with experience in more than 70 countries. His credits include "The Splendor of Cuba," a photography book. A former CPA and business consultant, Winebrenner left the corporate world to pursue a life of travel, photography and visual storytelling. He subsequently earned a master's degree from the Brooks Institute of Photography and taught in its visual journalism department. He is a contributor to stock photography and video collections.
General admission tickets will be sold at the door with separate costs for adults and for students. Season tickets, which may be used at the daytime or evening performances, may be purchased from any Rotary Club of Lititz member or from the Lititz Public Library, 651 Kissel Hill Road.
