The Solanco School Board has approved the hiring of Billie Corbin as principal at Providence Elementary School. She currently serves as special education consultant with the district. Corbin will replace Christina McLaughlin, who is resigning after five years as principal at Providence.
Prior to serving as special education consultant, Corbin was a second-grade, fifth-grade, and special education teacher at Clermont Elementary School from 2013 to 2017. She earned a Bachelor of Science in education at the University of Delaware in 2012, and in 2017 she received a Master of Education in leadership for teaching and learning from Millersville University.
Corbin's first day as principal will be on Monday, April 29.
