Library Sets Schedule

The Manheim Community Library (MCL), 15 E. High St., has posted its schedule. Programs are free unless otherwise noted. For more information, readers may call 717-665-6700 or visit http://www.manheimlibrary.org.

Homeschoolers Hour, for people age 5 and up, will focus on Magic School Bus Science at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 8. The group will watch an episode of "The Magic School Bus" and then enjoy a hands-on experiment or craft. Siblings are welcome. Registration is required.

STEM and Play will be offered on Wednesdays and Thursdays from April 3 to May 16 at 10 a.m., with preschoolers meeting on Wednesdays and toddlers gathering on Thursdays. Youngsters may play and experiment. Registration is requested, but walk-ins will be welcome. Siblings are welcome.

People of all ages are invited to the Find a Rock, Hide a Rock program on Saturday, April 6, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Shack, 662 S. Oak St., Manheim. Hobbyist Dennis Heiserman will share the art of rock painting and the growing hobby of Find a Rock, Hide a Rock. Heiserman lives in Manheim, and his hobby is painting rocks and hiding them for others to find. He loves bringing joy to others through his love of painting rocks. Sessions of Dungeons and Dragons for teenagers age 13 and up will be offered from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays, April 6 and 20.

The knitting club for adults will meet at 6 p.m. on April 8. Individuals who like to knit or crochet or who would like to learn are welcome.

Full STEAM Ahead, for youths age 10 and up, will take place at noon on April 20. The program will be on Minecraft in 3-D, with participants using Lego bricks to bring Minecraft to life. Attendees may pick from the challenge cards to build a creation. Registration is required by noon on Thursday, April 18. For last-minute registration, readers may call the library to check availability.

Earth Day STEM, recommended for elementary-schoolers, will be offered on Monday, April 22, at 4 p.m. The program will feature an hour of experiments. Siblings are welcome.

Youths age 5 and up are invited to take part in a Lego Challenge on Wednesday, April 24, at 3:30 p.m. Upon arrival, youths will be given a challenge, such as a theme, goal or competition.

The book club for adults will discuss "The Woman in the Window" by AJ Finn when it meets on Friday, April 26, at 9:30 a.m.

The Friends of Manheim Community Library invite community members to share in its celebration of five years of supporting the library. On Wednesday, April 10, a birthday party dessert reception will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. in the community room at the library. Preregistration is appreciated but not required.
