Susquehannock High School teacher Tom Laure has been awarded the Excellence in Education Award from the York Area Down Syndrome Association. Bruce Duncan, father of Kasey Duncan, nominated Laure. Kasey has been in Laure's class for two years and is now employed at Goodwill. In his nomination, Bruce noted that Laure arranges vocational opportunities and real-world experiences for his students.
When commenting on the award, Laure recognized his staff, including Toni Shearer, Christine Thomas, Diane Ingram, and Jennifer Garvey. He also mentioned the administration's support.
