Petra Church, 565 Airport Road, New Holland, will hold a service on Good Friday, April 19, featuring monologues from seven eyewitnesses to Jesus' suffering and death on the cross. The service, called "Jesus, the Broken Word," will take place at 7 p.m.
In addition to reflections from Mary Magdalene, the thief on the cross, a Roman soldier, John the apostle, and others, the service will include worship and Communion. It is designed for the whole family, but child care will be available for children from birth through prekindergarten.
Easter celebration services will take place on Sunday, April 21, at 9 and 11 a.m. The theme of this service will be "Jesus, the Victorious Word." It will include a time of worship, music by a children's choir, and a message by senior pastor Lester Zimmerman.
Sign interpretation will be offered at the 9 a.m. service. Spanish translation will be available at the 11 a.m. service. A separate service for children in kindergarten through grade four will be provided, as well as child care for children from birth through prekindergarten.
