Historical Programs Set

LancasterHistory, 230 N. President Ave., Lancaster, will host two upcoming events.

"Wampum Is Our Heart: Native American Medicine and Its European Reception in Penn's Woods," led by the Edward Hand Medical Museum, will be held on Thursday, April 18, with a reception at 4 p.m. and the main presentation at 4:30 p.m. Marlene Arnold of Millersville University will describe Native American theories of disease and healing practices in 18th-century Pennsylvania. A story time will be held on Saturday, April 27, at 11 a.m. Children will learn more about President James Buchanan and celebrate his 228th birthday with a Buchanan-themed story and craft time. This program is designed for children ages 4 to 9, but all children are welcome. The story time is free for children and accompanying adults, but reservations are required.by calling 717-392-4633.
