Students Attend Presentation, Make Blankets

St. Joseph School in York recently hosted students from St. Joseph School in Dallastown and St. Patrick School. The students gathered to hear a presentation by Miss Pennsylvania, Kayla Repasky. The students also prepared blankets to donate to Project Linus as an act of kindness as part of the 10,000 Acts of Kindness Campaign in York.

The nearly 500 students from the three York Deanery Schools prepared 20 blankets that will be donated to the local York Project Linus. These blankets will be given to children who are terminally ill, who have experienced traumas, or who are in need of a blanket.

Repasky's personal platform is Think First America, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that presents "Think Before You Post" and "Think First, Be Kind" programs. "Think Before You Post," for students of all ages, teaches attendees how large the internet is, how to utilize social media, and the importance of being kind on the internet. "Think First, Be Kind" teaches students character traits of kindness and respect, as well as how to recognize bullying and what actions to take if bullying occurs.

St. Joseph School in York is an educational community, with Jesus as its cornerstone. The school seeks to educate the whole child through academic excellence and faith preparation through the Roman Catholic tradition to enable students to serve as disciples of Christ in the global world.
