Swimmers Recognized At Competition

The 66th annual Purdon Smith Whiteley Award competition was held at the YWCA in York on March 21. The competition consisted of swimmers in grades six through 12 who were rated in areas of aquatic and personal performance.

The first-place award was presented to Marlyse Rexroth. Marlyse, the daughter of Marty and Jan Rexroth, is a junior at Central York High School. Marlyse's events included synchronized swimming, form swimming and a personal evaluation.

The second-place winners are Heather Faw, a senior at Dallastown High School, and Maci Newcomer, a ninth-grader at Central York High School. The third-place award went to Reena Mace, a sophomore at Central York High School.
