Senior Commons at Powder Mill, 1775 Powder Mill Road, York, will host a presentation to better understand brain changes as they relate to people living with dementia on Thursday, April 25, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Guest speaker Jennelle Jamison will discuss "The GEMS: Brain Change Model," created by Teepa Snow, renowned dementia-care education specialist. Rather than focusing on a person's loss, The GEMS model views individuals living with dementia as precious and capable.
The event is open to the public; however, seating is limited. Refreshments will be provided. Donations will be accepted to benefit the Alzheimer's Association. Reservations are required by Wednesday, April 24, by calling 717-741-0961.
