Senior Center Plans Programs

The South Central York County Senior Center, 150 E. Main St., New Freedom, has announced its upcoming activities. Individuals must be members of the center to participate in the center's activities. To become a member, interested readers may stop by the center and sign up, and they should bring a driver's license or other photo ID card.

The center serves a hot lunch at 11:30 a.m. each day, and attendees are encouraged to arrive at 11:20 a.m. For more information about the center and its programs, readers may call 717-235-6060.

The center offers tai chi at 10:15 a.m. each day. Daily isometric exercises will begin at 9:15 a.m. Stretch yoga is offered at 9 a.m. on Mondays, and line dancing is held at 10 a.m. on Wednesdays. Center attendees may also use the exercise equipment or walk in the gym every morning. The center offers a program that uses weights and focuses on improving agility at 9 a.m. on Fridays, and interested participants are encouraged to arrive a bit early.

The center also offers an acrylic art class on Mondays at 9:30 a.m., a watercolor art class on Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m., ceramics on Wednesdays at 9:15 a.m., Walking Through the Bible on Thursdays at 8:45 a.m., and the Friends Together Craft Class on Fridays at 9 a.m. The center also offers a class on card making and opportunities for blanket knotting, as well as a quilters' group.

The center will be announcing some upcoming trips, and information and sign-up sheets will be posted on the bulletin board at the center.
