Hempfield United Methodist Church (HUMC), 3050 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, will be the site of a five-session Christian caregiving class on Mondays, May 13 and 20 and June 3, 10 and 17, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The class will meet in room 170.
In this class, open to the public, participants will explore ways to confidently and compassionately respond to friends and acquaintances who share their life struggles and stories with them. Participants will also learn how to talk about their faith, pray with others, share words from the Bible and comfort others. Led by Joyce Young, HUMC director of care and minister of visitation, the class will be conducted as an informal table discussion.
A cost for the class has been set. Registration is available at http://www.hempfieldumc.org/caregiving, with more information also available by contacting Young at jyoung@hempfieldumc.org or 717-285-5156.
