School Bus Driver Honored

Student Transportation of America (STA) inducted local school bus driver Eileen Nikolaus into its Safety "Wall of Fame," the company's highest honor, at an awards ceremony on March 26 in Charleston, S.C.

Nikolaus, a veteran of the student transportation industry with more than 25 years of experience, was chosen for the award based on her impeccable attendance record and dedication to safety on and off the school bus. In her career, Nikolaus has driven 500,000 miles and has never had an accident. She has driven students of all ages; for the last three years, she has driven a wheelchair bus with special needs students. She is currently involved with the Mount Joy operation's SAC (Suggestions and Concerns) Committee and is involved with local safety committees. Nikolaus has raised two daughters, is active in her church, and participates in the Women's Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus.
