Choral Society Will Perform

The Lebanon County Choral Society will present Carl Orff's masterwork "Carmina Burana" on Sunday, May 19, at 3 p.m. in Blair Music Center, Lebanon Valley College, 101 N. College Ave., Annville.

Under the direction of Sean Hackett, the adult chorus will feature Rebecca Lister, soprano; Matthew Dickinson, tenor; David O'Donnell, baritone; Shelly Moorman-Stahlman and Eric Fung, piano; and Robert Nowak, percussion coordinator. Lighter selections will be performed by the youth chorus under the direction of Karen Umberger.

The Choral Society has been a part of the musical arts culture of central Pennsylvania since 1889. The organization seeks to nurture appreciation of challenging choral music by preparing public performances that combine accessibility with high artistic standards. The society has performed at New York's Lincoln Center with the Lebanon Valley College Alumni Chorale and the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra; the Washington National Cathedral; the Hershey Theater with the Hershey Symphony Orchestra; Longwood Gardens; the Hershey Museum; and the Lebanon County Historical Society. The group's musical style ranges from Renaissance madrigals to Christmas carols and from sacred anthems to the Broadway stage, singing in numerous languages from Latin to Zulu.
