Elizabethtown Area Communities That Care (EACTC) will benefit from the third annual Run for the Health of It 5K on Saturday, May 18, at 9 a.m. at Elizabethtown Area High School (EAHS), 600 E. High St. The event, which is being hosted by the EAHS Mind and Body 10.0 and 11.0 classes, will be held rain or shine and muddy or dry.
Registration will be from 7 to 8:30 a.m. at the tennis courts. The course will be 3.1 miles of pavement, grass, and compacted dirt and gravel paths. Post-race fruit and other refreshments will be available. Additionally, a 1-mile fun run will be open to children age 12 and under.
Awards for the 5K will be given to the top three males and females in the following divisions: the Base of the Hill Division, for people age 18 and under; the Climbing the Hill Division, for people ages 19 to 49; and the Over the Hill Division, for people age 50 and up. Other awards will include the M and B Spirit Award and awards for the youngest and oldest racer 5K participants.
Separate costs have been set for Elizabethtown Area School District students and staff members, for all other 5K runners, and for the 1-mile fun run.
