Melanie B.F. Markowski, current president and 22-year member of the Green Thumb Garden Club of Red Lion Area, has been honored with the Forget-Me-Not Award for District IV. The award was presented by the Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania (GCFP) at its 89th annual convention in Altoona on April 8.
This award recognizes Markowski for her work with garden club activities in community beautification and public education, includign twice-monthly library programs; for her participation with all aspects of club activities such as meetings, programs, and horticulture; and for her promotion of the values of GCFP, Central Atlantic Region of State Garden Clubs, and National Garden Club.
