Chester County commissioners and county staff, Coatesville City Council officials, and leaders of Maternal and Child Health Consortium (MCHC) recently met at the Coatesville Area Public Library to introduce Coatesville Community Connections, an enhanced service for Coatesville residents looking for crucial social service resources. The Coatesville Community Connections office is located in the Coatesville Library, 501 E. Lincoln Highway, Coatesville.
Coatesville Community Connections, funded by the Chester County Department of Human Services, will be staffed by community connector Damaris Pagan, information and referral staff member for MCHC.
Through Community Connections, MCHC works with county agencies in the Coatesville area, helping to expedite needed services for residents from basic needs like food, clothing and shelter to transportation information, health insurance and CHIP, SNAP, mental health services, drug and alcohol services and utility and rental assistance. Resources are available for both English- and Spanish-speaking families.
The new Coatesville Library location will allow extended office hours for the Community Connections service, including some evenings and Saturdays. Office hours are 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturdays.
