A program on bats will be offered on Saturday, June 8, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Musselman Vesta Iron Furnace Center, 26 Furnace Road, Marietta. Brandon Pentax, Lancaster County park ranger, will conduct the educational program.
According to organizers, bats are considered an important part of the local habitat and provide benefits to humans every time they eat insects. Current threats to bat populations include white nose syndrome and hibernacula disturbance.
