Civil Air Patrol Program Posted

More than $2 million is earmarked by the U.S. Air Force to ease the shortage of pilots. The money will be spent on flight training and orientation for Civil Air Patrol and ROTC cadets, career exploration and STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) kits for local educators nationwide. Locally Civil Air Patrol is represented by Jesse Jones Composite Squadron 304, which meets on Monday evenings at Lancaster Municipal Airport.

The Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program is open to all young men and women ages 12 to 20. Cadets participate in leadership training, aerospace education, character development and physical fitness activities in addition to regular field training in search and rescue and disaster relief capabilities.

Free STEM kits are available for educators to use in their classrooms at public and private schools and homeschool and youth organizations. Aerospace education membership has a set one-time cost, after which the STEM kits, seminars and orientation flights are all free.

Additional information is available at http://www.Squadron304.US or by emailing CC@Squadron304.US. Meetings are held Mondays from 7 to 9 p.m. at the northwest corner of Lancaster Municipal Airport, near the corner of Lititz Pike and Millport Road. Visitors are always welcome.
