Banquet Posts Fundraising Record

A Woman's Concern (AWC) Pregnancy and Parenting Resource Center held its 2019 annual Partners' Dinner on April 11 at Calvary Church in Lancaster. The banquet had the theme "Unique and Wonderfully Made" and featured acclaimed international speaker Dr. Ron Archer, founder of Archer International Ministries; consultant to Fortune 500 companies, U.S. presidents, and the United Nations; international spokesperson for Gideon Bibles; and chaplain for the NFL.

More than 500 people attended the event this year. Following a meal, attendees heard an update on the organization's growth over the prior year and goals for the future from executive director Jill Hartman. Afterward, AWC premiered a new video compilation of interviews from AWC clients and supporters, highlighting the difference AWC has made in the lives of women and families in the Lancaster area. The video is available at http://www.pregnancylancaster.com/blog/2019/4/12/video.

Keynote speaker Archer spoke about his difficult childhood, filled with abuse, poverty, and struggles with disability. He emphasized the impact that a single person can have on the life of another, and he called for supporters to give generously to support the vision and mission of AWC. Donations for the event totaled nearly $130,000, enough to cover approximately 30 percent of the organization's expenses for the year. This year's total was a historic high for the fundraising banquet.
