Pressure Canning Class Scheduled

Penn State Extension in Lancaster County will offer a class on pressure canning on Saturday, June 15, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Farm and Home Center, 1383 Arcadia Road, Lancaster. The class will focus on the basics of using a pressure canner using current USDA canning guidelines. The class will include a canning demonstration and lecture.

Participants will learn how a pressure canner works, the foods that need to be pressure canned, canning safety, and what to look for when buying a pressure canner. The instructor for the workshop is a Master Food Preserver with Penn State Extension.

Preregistration is required, and there is a fee.
