The Eastern Lancaster County (ELANCO) Library, 11 Chestnut Drive, New Holland, will offer a variety of programs for the community. Most events are free but require advance registration. The Summer Reading Program will start on Saturday, June 1, at 10 a.m. The program is open to people of all ages. The theme is "A Universe of Stories." Two new programs, Get Outdoors (GO) Lancaster! and Summer Fitness Quest, will be featured.
Dungeons and Dragons Club will meet on June 1 from 1 to 3 p.m. and on Thursday, June 20, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for individuals age 10 and up. Refreshments will be provided.
Chair Zumba at the Library will be held on June 1 at 10 a.m. The program is open to individuals age 16 and older.
Maker Monday, for children age 3 and older, will be offered on Mondays, June 3 to Aug. 5, from 4 to 6 p.m. Activities will be based on the theme of "A Universe of Stories."
Libraries Are a Blast! will be held on June 3 at 6:30 p.m. for children age 3 and older. Siblings are welcome to attend. Different rocket activities, including launching rockets, will be included.
Readers' Roundtable Book Discussion, open to people age 16 and older, will be held on June 3 at 6:30 p.m. in the downstairs board room. "Huckleberry Finn" by Mark Twain will be the featured book.
Summer Story Time Tuesdays will be held on Tuesdays, except for June 18, at 10:30 a.m. The program is open to children ages 3 to 8, but people of all ages are welcome. The program will feature books, songs, rhymes, movement activities, or a craft based on the Summer Reading Program theme.
Teen Tuesdays will be held on Tuesdays from 3 to 5 p.m. and are open to students in grades six to 12 as an opportunity to hang out at the library.
Parachute Play, open to walking toddlers ages 1 to 3, will be held on Wednesday, June 5, at 10:30 a.m. Parachute Play will help children develop gross motor skills, learn to work together, have imaginative play, develop spatial awareness, and express themselves.
Preschool Lab: A STEM Story Time will be offered on Thursdays, June 6 to Aug. 8, at 10:30 a.m. for children ages 3 to 6. Siblings are welcome to attend. Every program will start with a few books and end with an activity.
Duplo Free Play Thursdays, for children ages 1 to 5, will be offered on Thursdays, June 6 to Aug. 29, from 3 to 5 p.m. Siblings are welcome. Participants may drop in for a free building time.
A Summer Reading kickoff party will be held on June 6 at 6:30 p.m. The family event for people of all ages will include snacks, games, a dunk tank, and an opportunity to sign up for the Summer Reading Program.
Friday Frolic for Toddlers will be held on Fridays at 10:30 a.m. for walking toddlers ages 1 to 3 with a caregiver. Toddlers will dance, zoom, scoot, and hop between stories selected to promote language development. All adults are expected to participate and encourage the children to join in the fun.
Stay and Play Fridays will take place at 11 a.m. on Fridays and is open to toddlers and preschoolers. After the Friday Frolic for Toddlers ends, children are invited to stay and play until lunch time.
Therapy dogs will visit the library on Saturday, June 8, at 10:30 a.m. Children are invited to improve their reading skills and make a new friend by reading aloud to a therapy dog. The dogs and handlers are from KPETS.
Lunch and Anime will take place on Monday, June 10, from noon to 2 p.m. Students in grades six to 12 are invited to pack a lunch and watch some anime at the library.
Fan Fic Writing Workshop will meet on June 10 at 6:30 p.m. Students in grades six to 12 on invited to work on their Fan Fic, share ideas, and ask for help from Ms. Carla, who can help edit and create a masterpiece.
The Lego Creation Club will meet on June 10 at 6:30 p.m. The family event is open to children age 3 and up. Creations will be displayed at the library.
Hooks and Needles: Yarn Crafting Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. on June 10. The club is open to all knitters and crocheters of all skill levels and ages.
Stop Motion Workshop will be held on Tuesday, June 11, at 3 p.m. for children age 8 and up. Participants should bring either a phone or a tablet to create stop motion videos with a simple app and different objects.
Yoga at the Library will be held on June 11 at 7 p.m. and is open to people age 16 and older of all levels, especially beginners. The free program will occur when the library is closed, so advance registration is required. Attendees should bring a yoga mat, a yoga strap (or belt/tie/scarf), and either a folded blanket or small, firm pillow. Free child care will be available for this event.
Twinkling Stars, open to children up to age 2, will be held on Wednesday, June 12. Siblings are welcome. The lapsit program will feature singing, games, rhymes, and books.
STEAM Wars will take place on June 12 at 2 p.m. for students in kindergarten through grade six. The program will feature Star Wars-themed STEAM activities, such as a lightsaber circuit cards, upcycled droids, and more.
Pizza Party for Teens will be held on Thursday, June 13, at 1 p.m. Teenagers in grades six through 12 are invited to eat lunch and socialize.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid Party will be offered on June 13 at 6:30 p.m. The event is open to children age 8 and older and will feature activities, a craft, and snacks.
Our Mind and Essential Oils - Rollerball Make and Take will be held on June 13 at 6:30 p.m. The event is open to people age 16 and older. Seating and supplies are limited. Registration is required, and there is a materials fee, payable at the door.
Teen After-Hours: Mandala Painting will be held on Friday, June 14, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. for students in grades six to 12. Space is limited. Registration is required, and there is a materials fee. All materials are included for this class.
Explore to Learn - Stars will be held on Saturday, June 15, at 10:30 a.m. for students in kindergarten through grade six. The program will focus on stars, the sun, and the constellations.
SaturGames will take place on June 15 from 1 to 4 p.m. for students in grade five and up. The Switch, Wii, and Xbox will be out for anyone to play. Snacks will be provided.
One-on-One Tech Help will be available on June 1 and 15 from 2 to 4 p.m. Free tech help will be available for any device, tablet, or computer. To register, readers may call or stop by the library. Walk-ins are welcome, but not guaranteed an appointment.
The Fabulous Franklin will meet on Monday, June 17, at 10:30 a.m. Two actors will re-create important moments in Ben Franklin's story for children age 4 and older.
Oreo Taste Testing will take place on June 17 at 2 p.m. Students in kindergarten and older are invited to taste Oreos and vote on their favorites.
No-Sew Dragon Wings, for children age 8 and older, will be held on June 17 at 6:30 p.m. Materials are limited. Registration is required.
Pout Pout Fish at the Library! will be held on Tuesday, June 18, at 10:30 a.m. The family event is for people of all ages. Costume character Pout Pout Fish will be at the library for a story time and crafts.
Move and Groove will take place on Wednesday, June 19, at 10:30 a.m. The program is open to children ages 2 to 6 and their siblings. The program will feature a fun interactive program with music, motion, sound, dance, and stories.
Aliens, Underpants, and Unusual Things will be held on June 19 at 4 p.m. for children ages 3 to 8. A Block Party - Preschool STEM event will be held on Thursday, June 20, at 6:30 p.m. for children ages 3 to 6.
Teen After-Hours: Sci-Fi Fandom, for students in grades six to 12, will be held on Friday, June 21, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Teens should cosplay as their favorite sci-fi character and enjoy snacks, games, and more.

Rocketing Reptiles with Jesse the Reptile Guy will take place on Monday, June 24, at 10:30 a.m. and is open to children age 5 and up. All children under age 5 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Rocketing Reptiles is an interactive animal show featuring Jesse Rothacker and his lizards, turtles, alligators, and snacks.
Phredd - Ukulele One Man Band will visit the library on June 24 at 6:30 p.m. The family-friendly Phredd's performance will include interaction, singing, hand motions, and creative play.
Teen Advisory Group, open to teenagers in grades six through 12, will meet on June 24 at 6:30 p.m. Attendees will plan future teen events at the library.
The Teen Book Club will meet at 7 p.m. on June 24. Students in grades six to 12 are invited to bring along a book they have recently read for discussion.
Art for Little Ones, ages 2 to 5, will be held on Wednesday, June 26, at 10:30 a.m. The event will feature different types of painting, sensory bins, and gluing to create several different pieces of art.
Young Readers' Club, for students in grades three to five, will meet on Thursday, June 27, at 6:30 p.m. Participants will explore different books and themes for children who like chapter books. "The One and Only Ivan" by Katherine Applegate will be discussed.
Touch a Truck will be held on Saturday, June 29, from 10 a.m. to noon. The family event is open to people of all ages. The parking lot will be filled with trucks to explore.
Apollo 50th Anniversary- A History of the Mission with Axel Diaz, NASA ambassador, will be held on June 29 at 11 a.m. The event is open to people age 16 and older.
