Lions Club Makes Donation

The Eagle-Glenmoore Lions Club donated a Brady Buggy Wagon to the Oncology Department at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia on April 24. Funds for the wagon were provided by community members who support the Lions' fundraisers.

A Brady Buggy is a wagon built to allow children who are undergoing cancer treatment more freedom by safely transporting them and the IV pole as one unit. The wagons are constructed from durable, medically approved non-toxic materials. Currently the buggies can be ordered in nine different animal designs. The Lions chose a yellow lion.

The Brady Buggy is produced by the Hugs for Brady Foundation in New Jersey. Sherrie and Michael Wells created the foundation in memory of their son Brady, who was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia in 2009. He passed away at 23 months old.

To date, Brady Buggies have been placed in more than 150 hospitals. St. Christopher's, a 189-bed hospital that has offered pediatric care since 1875, now has two Brady Buggies.
