Pre-K Meet-Up will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 11. The casual gathering is open to children ages 3 to 5 and their caregivers. The program will meet in the Early Literacy Lab. Older and younger siblings are welcome.
Toddler Meet-Up will take place from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesdays, June 5 and 12. The casual gathering is open to children ages 1 to 3 and their caregivers. The program will meet in the Early Literacy Lab. Older siblings are welcome.
Summer Lego Club willl meet from 6 to 7 p.m. on June 5 and 12. Attendees will build creations to be displayed in the library. All ages are welcome, but the program is best for those age 5 and up. Children under 3 should be closely monitored by a responsible adult. Registrants are guaranteed a platform to build with. Walk-ins will be accommodated as space permits.
Family Movie Night will be held on Thursday, June 6, at 6 p.m. The first Thursday of every month, the library offers a free G- or PG-rated movie and serves popcorn, with all ages welcome.
Sing! Sign! Story Time! for children birth through age 6 with a caregiver, with other family members welcome, will take place from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. on Friday, June 7. It uses stories and songs to teach basic American Sign Language (ASL) baby signs to children and their grown-ups, a few signs at a time. Walk-in families will be accommodated as space permits.
Tweens' BYOB (Bring Your Own Book) for grades five through eight will be held from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. on June 7 and Friday, June 14. Attendees will take on a challenge, read books they choose, join a community of readers, share and discuss. Snacks will be provided. Walk-ins are welcome.
Mini Science, appropriate for children entering kindergarten through grade two with a responsible adult, will take place from 2 to 3 p.m. on June 12. The capacity is 15 families. The program will include science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) games, activities and projects. Registration is strongly encouraged, with walk-ins accommodated as space permits. However, late arrivals may not be accommodated, as safety instructions are often reviewed at the beginning of each session.
On Thursday, June 13, Parachute Play will offer fun with a parachute plus silly songs and rhymes from 10 to 10:30 a.m. for children ages 1 to 3 and their caregivers. Parachute Games will be held from 10:45 to 11:15 a.m. and will provide songs, rhymes, and games for children ages 3 to 6 and their caregivers.
Wee Readers, a family story time, will include a mix of stories, crafts, songs, and activities. The program will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 14. The program is open to young children and their caregivers.
STEM Saturday for children ages 8 to 12 will take place on June 15 at 10 a.m. The monthly series of STEM-based programs encourages children and families to learn about math and the sciences. These hands-on programs use kits provided by Agilent Technologies that attendees get to keep at the end. Space is limited to 18 participants. Registration is preferred, and walk-ins will be welcome as class size allows.
