Storytelling Program Scheduled

Rock Ford Plantation, 881 Rockford Road, Lancaster, has announced the return of its summer storytelling program, Stories on the Porch. The program will be offered on Tuesdays from June 18 to Aug. 6. Programs will begin at 10 a.m. and run for approximately 30 minutes.

During the program, a Rock Ford volunteer reads a selected story of life in Early America to the children gathered on the porch of the mansion. Following the story, children participate in a activity. Afterward, children and their adults may explore the grounds of Rock Ford or take a guided tour of the mansion.

Stories on the Porch is geared toward children from preschool through fifth grade. Children must be accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult. The event is free, but donations are welcome.

Reservations are not required for this event. The program will be held rain or shine.

Rock Ford Plantation is operated by the nonprofit Rock Ford Foundation and is open for tours Tuesdays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. from April to October. For more information, readers may visit http://www.rockfordplantation.org or call 717-392-7223.
