The American Legion Awards were presented at Donegal Junior High School on June 6. The winners include Zach Karpel, Scott Garcia, Dylan Lenhart, Maddison Arroyo, Hannah Jenney, and Sierra Houck.
Each year, the local units of the American Legion Auxiliary present six eighth-grade junior high school students with the American Legion School Award. The award is designed to place emphasis on the development of the qualities of honor, courage, leadership, Americanism, scholarship, and service. Recognition, through the award of the American Legion, is given to students who are deemed worthy of the high qualities of citizenship and true Americanism.
