Jacobus Lions Club will hold its first-ever BLAST Pie Baking Contest at the Fourth of July BLAST at Jacobus Community Park, 18 S. Main St., Jacobus, on Thursday, July 4. The category of pies to be baked from scratch will be fruit pies, including cherry, apple, peach, berry, and others.
Pie entries should be dropped off at the Jacobus Ambulance Building between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. on July 4. An entry form must be filled out for each pie along with an entry fee paid for each pie.
Winners will be announced at 11:45 a.m. on July 4 at the Smith Village Music Fest Stage in the park. Prizes and ribbons will be awarded, and photos will be taken.
The remainder of each pie, after judging occurs, will be available for purchase by the piece at the Jacobus Lions Club booth at the park as a fundraiser for the Lions Club.
