Spence Honored By PFDA

William Spence of Manheim, a licensed Pennsylvania funeral director for 25 years, was honored for dedicated professional service by the Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association (PFDA).

The award was presented by Stephanie L. Doriguzzi, PFDA president, at a special recognition ceremony event at the 138th annual PFDA Convention and Expo.

Spence is a 1993 graduate of Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. He founded and has owned the William P. Spence Funeral & Cremation Services Inc. in Manheim for 14 years. Previously, he was employed as a funeral director by the former Frank S. Miller Funeral Home Inc. in Elizabethtown.

Organized in 1881, the PFDA is the largest state funeral directors' association in the nation, and it is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association. The Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association exists to inform and educate funeral directors, the public, and the government about the value of funeral service and licensed funeral directors on a pre-need, at-need, and post-need basis.
