Moores Memorial Library, 9 W. Slokom Ave., Christiana, will participate in "A Universe of Stories" Summer Reading Program through Saturday, Aug. 10. Registration materials are still available in the library.
Participants from birth to age 19 who complete the requirements can earn free prizes. Children can read at their own pace and turn in competed reading logs as soon as they finish the requirements.
In conjunction with "A Universe of Stories," special programs will be held each week in the library. Children age 2 and up will learn about fire safety and explore the equipment used by the Christiana Fire Company on Saturday, July 13, at 11 a.m. The Girl Scout STEM Mobile will be at the library with "Robotics" on Thursday, July 18, at 5:30 p.m. "The Spirit of Lindbergh" will take place on Saturday, July 20, at 2 p.m. A special visit by the Dutch Wonderland Princess will take place on Tuesday, July 23, at 2 p.m. Joel Moore, Civil War educator, will conclude the special presentations for the summer at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6.
Several ongoing programs will also be offered. Lego Club, designed for participants age 8 and older, will be held on Thursdays, July 11 and 25 and Aug. 8 and 22. A STEM program will be held on Thursday, Aug. 15. Arts and Crafts will take place at 11 a.m. on Mondays, July 15 and Aug. 19. The Knit and Natter Club will gather on Wednesdays, July 17 and Aug. 7 and 21, at 1 p.m.
