Boscov's at The York Galleria Mall, 2899 Whiteford Road, York, will host A Lyme Disease Awareness Day Community Event on Friday, July 19, from 1 to 3 p.m. The event will provide information to attendees on how they can protect themselves and their families from Lyme disease and other tick-borne diseases.
The community is invited to meet experts who will help educate and raise awareness to prevent the spread of Lyme disease. The Department of Health's Dr. Durbin will distribute educational material and offer short presentations. Representatives of the York Lyme Disease Support Group will discuss understanding the effects and identifying Lyme-related difficulties. Representatives of the Lyme Brave Foundation will raise awareness of Lyme disease and prevention and discuss networking for support.
