World War II Roundtable Will Welcome Speaker

Charles Brooking will be the guest speaker at the monthly meeting of the Central Pennsylvania World War II Roundtable on Thursday, Aug. 1, at 7 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 433 E. Main St., Hummelstown.

Brooking served aboard a PT boat in the Pacific during World War II and saw combat duty near the Solomon Islands and Guadalcanal. Brooking served in the U.S. Navy beginning in early 1944. He had two years active/combat service and later eight years in the U.S. Navy Reserves.

Roundtable meetings are held on the first Thursday of every month. Anyone with an interest in World War II is invited to attend the meetings. There are no membership or admission fees.
