The fifth annual Dutchland Dulcimer Gathering will take place on Friday and Saturday, July 26 and 27, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 301 St. Thomas Road, Lancaster. The mountain dulcimer is a traditional American folk instrument.
The gathering will include classes, a jam session on the night of July 26, and a concert in the evening on July 27.
A variety of instructors will be featured, including 2018 national champion Wendy Songe and 2008 national champion Nina Zanetti. Along with them, Dave Haas, Butch Ross, Bill Collins, and Judy and Kirk House will teach classes for beginners to experts. Loaner instruments are available. Additionally, Andy Fox will teach guitar classes.
Classes on July 26 will be from 2:30 to 9 p.m., with registration beginning at 12:30 p.m. On July 27, registration will begin at 7:30 a.m., and classes will be from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The closing concert on July 27 will begin at 7 p.m. and will highlight the instructors in solo and group performances. A freewill offering will be received.
