Five Navy Supply Corps Business/Enterprise Supply Chain Management (BEM) interns recently took part in a three-day workshop at Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Business Systems Center (BSC) in Mechanicsburg. The event served as an opportunity for interns to learn about the mission, functions and tasks of NAVSUP BSC, and it provided a platform to collaborate and share experiences learned from serving at different commands. During the visit, the interns also met with Capt. Douglas M. Bridges Jr., commanding officer at NAVSUP BSC.
BEM internships serve as the commencement of a career in logistics information technology. The interns receive formal education and earn multiple accreditations in the management of information systems. Following successful completion of the 24-month internship program, officers earn the Logistics Information Technology 1309S subspecialty code.
