Redevelopment Project Planned

A tract of land housing a longtime vacant grocery store in Dover Township will be redeveloped into a new Lidl grocery store partially through a $500,000 Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grant, Rep. Seth Grove announced recently.

The land, located at the corner of Carlisle Road and Hilton Avenue, will be home to a Lidl grocery store once demolition of the existing building and construction of the new store is complete.

The $11.5 million project includes the removal of existing buildings at the site and the ground-up construction of the new store.

RACP grants are for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvement projects. RACP projects are to have a regional or multi-jurisdictional impact and generate substantial increases or maintain current levels of employment, tax revenues, or other measures of economic activity. The program requires a dollar-for-dollar match in non-state funding in the project, and all project related expenses must be incurred and satisfied in advance of approved reimbursements from the state.
