Morr Indoor Range and Training Center, 2488 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, will host the second annual #DoMorr Community Day event on Saturday, Aug. 17, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will feature nonprofits and local organizations in need of community support and will include incentives and giveaways to encourage people to attend the event and donate to these causes. Participating organizations will include the Solanco Neighborhood Ministries Food Bank, PAL Outdoors, Mental Health America of Lancaster County, Veteran Suicide Prevention Awareness, and Mission 22.
#DoMorr Community Day will highlight an ongoing veteran suicide prevention awareness campaign run by Mental Health America of Lancaster County, the West Lampeter Police Department, the Department of Veteran Affairs, and Morr Range. During the event, these organizations will be giving away free gun locks to those in need. Tracy Fornwalt, co-owner of Morr Range, noted that the business is a veteran-owned organization and values supporting veterans, as there are Morr team members who are veterans.
Activities at Community Day will benefit multiple organizations and allow attendees to support the local community. Donations supporting Solanco Neighborhood Ministries will be accepted during the event. Attendees are invited to donate cans of tuna and chicken, juice boxes, individual-size cereal boxes, oatmeal packets, hot chocolate, macaroni and cheese, soup, granola bars, snack crackers, and other nonperishable food items.
Anyone participating in the #DoMorr Community Day activities will receive tickets for their donations that can be used toward drawings to win items including a variety of firearms, tickets for Lancaster Barnstormers games, a three-month range membership, and more. Free food and beverages will also be available during the event.
