LVC Athletes Earn Recognition

A total of 20 Lebanon Valley College (LVC) men's and women's ice hockey players have been recognized by the United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) for their academic performance during the 2018-19 season.

Local students include the following. John Wendling of Lititz, a graduate of Lampeter-Strasburg High School, is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice. Darby Seymour of Hershey, a graduate of Lancaster Mennonite School, is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in English and business administration.

To be eligible for all-academic consideration, a player must have completed at least one academic year at their current institution, while holding a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher for all terms of the 2018-19 academic year.

In addition, men's player Cole Hepler was named Academic All-Middle Atlantic Conference for the second straight year for his combination of athletic and academic success this past winter, while Brett Johnson, the 2018-19 MAC Offensive Player of the Year and All-UCHC First-Team honoree, was also named Academic All-MAC.

On the women's side, Jillian Moffatt was tabbed the UCHC Co-Goalie of the Year, captured MAC First-Team Honors and was named Academic All-Conference. Amy Templeman, who anchored LVC's defense in 2018-19, also earned a spot on the MAC's Academic All-Conference Team and earned All-MAC First-Team recognition.
