The Hershey Community Chorus will hold an open house on Monday, Aug. 19, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the community room on the lower level of the Hershey-Derry Township Historical Society building, 40 Northeast Drive, Hershey. This is an opportunity for interested members of the public to learn more about the chorus and meet current members. Light refreshments will be served.
Chorus archive files will be on display, and recordings of previous concerts will be played. Registration for membership will be available, and new members in all voice parts are welcome. There is a nonrefundable registration fee.
The chorus rehearses on Mondays from 7 to 9:15 p.m. in the auditorium at Hershey Evangelical Free Church, 330 Hilltop Road, Hummelstown. The Christmas concert is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 13, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 15, at 3 p.m.
Registration will continue on Monday, Aug. 26, at 6:30 p.m., with a full rehearsal starting at 7 p.m. Interested people will be able to experience singing with the chorus during this rehearsal before joining.
