West Shore Recreation Commission (WSRec) invites the public to "Fall Back Into Fitness" with the release of the fall guide. Fall registration for residents will start on Tuesday, Aug. 27. Nonresident registration will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 3.
WSRec will continue to offer fitness programs incorporating strength, balance, flexibility, aerobic and endurance exercises, such as Pilates, Pi-Yo, Muscle Pump, Kickboxing and Abs, Zumba Step, Booty Barre, Tabata and new Core De Force. Tai chi, yoga, ballroom dancing, belly dancing and other programs will be offered as well.
Aquatic workouts, such as Aquacise, Aqua Fit, Water Workout and Hydro Hike, will be held at the natatorium at Red Land Area High School, 560 Fishing Creek Road, Lewisberry. Adults are invited to be active with weekend tennis and pickleball or adult golf lessons, men's basketball, individual lap swimming, scuba lessons and quads volleyball leagues on weeknights. A morning pontoon boat tour around the Pinchot Park lake will be offered, as will Kayak Experience for both beginners and experienced kayakers.
WSRec will offer workshops highlighting freezer meals in the slow cooker, during which attendees will assemble five meals in an hour and take them home to cook. Childrem are invited to attend Spooky Snacks and Holiday Cookie Workshop.
WSRec will offer trips to the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum, as well as the Winter Festival of Lights at Oglebay Park.
Students in grades one through six will have the opportunity to work with robotics, engineering and coding with the after-school STEM Clubs. Children and youths can also experience youth introductory programs for soccer, tennis, martial arts, swimming and more.

Other diverse educational opportunities for adults and youths will include babysitting certification opportunities, adult horsemanship lessons, drone clinics, Medicare Basics, first aid, CPR and AED, Baby Signing Time and more.
