The Elizabethtown Area Senior Center, located in the GEARS Community Center, 70 S. Poplar St., Elizabethtown, invites area seniors to its upcoming programs. The center, a service of GEARS and the Lancaster County Office of Aging, is open regularly on Mondays through Fridays. On Thursday, Aug. 29, the schedule will include walking at 9 a.m., shuffleboard and Trivia - Cars at 10:30 a.m., and pinochle at 12:30 p.m. Lunch will be a sweet sausage sandwich with pepper and sauce, cheesy potatoes, a whole-grain roll, and fresh melon.
Activities on Friday, Aug. 30, will include walking at 9 a.m., Bible study or table games at 10 a.m., Tell Me a Story ... at 11 a.m., and a TGIF dinner at 5 p.m. Lunch will be roasted pork with dijon mushroom sauce, vegetable rice pilaf, green beans, wheat bread, and pineapple delight.
The center will be closed for Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 2.
The schedule on Tuesday, Sept. 3, will feature walking at 9 a.m., U.S. Geography at 10:15 a.m., and Churches 'Round the World at 1 p.m. Lunch will be a hot dog with sauerkraut on a hot dog roll, barbecue butter beans, potato salad, and tropical fruit.
The center's activities on Wednesday, Sept. 4, will include walking at 9 a.m., Wii Bowling or table games at 10 a.m., and Bingo for Bucks at 1:30 p.m. Lunch will be rotisserie chicken with gravy, whipped potatoes with chives, mixed vegetables, a whole-grain biscuit, and sliced peaches.
