Geisinger Holy Spirit, 503 N. 21st St., Camp Hill, will host a free Stop the Bleed training session for the community on Monday, Sept. 16, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the hospital auditorium. Stop the Bleed training teaches the basic techniques of bleeding control, so people can make a difference in a life-threatening emergency. The course is open to everyone age 14 and older.
Since January 2017, Geisinger has trained more than 10,000 people through the Stop the Bleed program. Geisinger has also distributed more than 2,300 bleeding control kits throughout central and northeastern Pennsylvania, including 772 kits to schools and organizations. These kits are designed to help control or stop blood loss from traumatic events, including accidents, vehicle crashes, and acts of violence.
